William Daniels Celebrates 75 Years Married to Bonnie Bartlett: 'How Lucky Am I?'

The couple, both Emmy winners, married in 1951 and credit their long-lasting union to working through challenges together
Bartlett revealed in her memoir that their marriage once included extramarital affairs but later shifted to a monogamous partnership
William Daniels and wife Bonnie Bartlett are celebrating their 75th anniversary.
The actor, who turned 99 on March 31, took to Facebook to share a photo of the two, along with the caption, "Happy 75th Anniversary to my wife Bonnie. It doesn’t even seem that long it just seems like this is my life. And it’s with each other. How lucky am I?"
At 75 years married, the couple's love story is among the longest in Hollywood.
Daniels — who played beloved teacher Mr. Feeny on Boy Meets World — and fellow Emmy Award winner Bartlett, 97, got married on June 30, 1951.

Speaking to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview in March, Daniels said that he and his wife focus on taking care of themselves as they age.

"We have a trainer who works with us twice a week. I used to swim about 45 minutes almost every day. I did that well into my 80s," Daniels said. "Bonnie keeps nagging me to get on the exercise bike. She rides that bike every day. It sets a good example, I suppose."
On the topic of their partnership, the actor shared: "I think the main reason why we've been married for 75 years is because we never seriously considered being with anyone else. So we had to work things out. You know?"
Like any relationship, theirs has had challenges, and in her 2023 memoir Middle of the Rainbow, Bartlett revealed that she and Daniels had something of an open marriage after tying the knot.

She wrote that "she never felt guilty" about extramarital affairs because neither of the two "felt tied to fidelity," and also admitted to having "an affair that lasted a few months" with another actor in 1959.
Her husband's affair with a New York-based producer in the early 1970s ultimately left her "devastated," however, and she determined, as she wrote, that she "could no longer tolerate any kind of open marriage."
