The Young and the Restless Recap August 27: Victoria and Kyle Have Sex

On the Thursday, August 27, 2026, episode of The Young and the Restless, Jack's office becomes the scene of a not-quite crime, Lily drives a hard bargain, and Phyllis is on the hunt for Matt.

A Challenge For Billy

After Lily offered him Chancellor if he could prove he was the right person to run it, Billy accused Lily of playing games with him. He didn't think he should have to jump through hoops for something he already had a right to. Billy also accused Ily of wanting to hold onto Chancellor so she could grow her relationship with Cane.

Lily refused to budge. Billy had to prove himself or she would fight him tooth and nail for Chancellor. They both acknowledged that everyone seemed to feel an emotional pull toward the company, thanks to Katherine Chancellor, but that just devolved into an argument over who loved the old matriarch more.

Finally, Billy went to bat for himself, explaining that he had a vision for Chancellor and just needed the chance to make that vision happen. He knows he could do a better job than Cane and could taste this opportunity to finally prove himself.

"He is not taking that company to the stars and that's where I am going. The only way that company is going to get there is with me at the helm," Billy argued.

Billy was aware that he had let Lily down in the past. He'd made too many mistakes, but he wasn't going to do it this time.

After Billy's emotional pleas, Lily was affected and told her ex that she would think about what he said and talk to him about it more in the morning.

Phyllis on a Tear

At the GCAC, Cane and Adam casually ribbed one another for a bit until Phyllis stormed up to the bar and demanded to know where Matt was. She startled the two men, who had no clue where Phyllis could find him. Phyllis hadn't seen him for days and was sure something foul had happened and that it had Victor Newman's name written all over it.

Cane told Phyllis that when he had seen Matt last, he had wanted to stay in Genoa City due to his feelings for Phyllis. Adam was annoyed and just wanted Phyllis to file a missing person's report for someone who was nothing more than a criminal. "Drug dealer, rapist, attempted murderer..." Adam said as he ticked off a list of Matt's various crimes. Phyllis was sure that Matt had changed, but Adam didn't buy it at all. "He's none of those things anymore. He's changed," Phyllis said.

Cane and Adam remained confused about why Phyllis was so hung up on Matt. "He's a con artist and a professional liar and he's very good at telling people what they want to hear," Cane noted.

They didn't think he really cared about Phyllis, but Phyllis begged to differ. "Matt's commitment to me is real and it's genuine, so I'm not going to stand here and listen to a speech on loyalty from the two of you," Phyllis asserted. After Phyllis walked away to sit at a table, Cane and Adam both wondered if Phyllis actually had feelings for Matt.

After Cane left to talk to Lily, Adam approached Phyllis. He told her that Matt was a monster and he didn't see what she saw in the guy. Phyllis was completely convinced that Matt had changed, but she'd go after Victor if she ever learned that he was behind Matt's disappearance.

A Jabot Tryst

In Jack's office, Kyle and Victoria continued to flirt as they discussed their brilliant sales pitch to relaunch Vibrante with a fake war. They did this over drinks as things got tense between them. As she removed her jacket, Victoria told Kyle that she didn't pay to lose, so she expected their idea to be a great success.

Kyle just laughed and said neither did he. The flirting got more serious when Victoria told Kyle that he does a funny thing with his face while he tried making a point. Kyle smirked nad claimed he was going to be the cosmetic king once again. as Kyle and Victoria got physically closer to one another, they could no longer resist and began kissing.

One thing led to another and Kyle and Victoria ended up having sex on the couch in Jack's office just like Carter and Steffy had sex on the couch in Eric's office last week over in Los Angeles. At least Kyle remembered to lock the door and close the blinds first, but will a cleaning crew member start knocking on the door anyway?

When the deed is done, Kyle and Victoria both agree that they had a little too much to drink and that they should never, ever do this again. "They were generous pours and we were excited...about the project," Kyle reasoned.

It may have been enjoyable, but it was a mistake. "It was just a thing that happened...spur of the moment," Victoria said. They agreed to meet again to discuss business only, but they would stay away from Jack's office. That didn't stop them from sharing more passionate kisses before they left. "We can't tell one soul," Victoria said.

After Victoria finally walked away, she headed straight to the ranch house to check on her mother. Nikki was surprised to see Victoria getting home so late. They made some small talk about Nick and how concerned they were while Victoria tried to put what happened with Kyle out of her mind.

As for Kyle, he stopped into Society and was in a good enough mood to buy his Uncle Billy a drink.
