If I could spend most of my days in my loungewear, much to my boyfriend’s chagrin, I would. I’m sorry, who doesn’t love the feeling of being comfy 24/7? Sue me. So, obviously, when I started taking note of fashion people and celebs wearing easy pants—you know those breezy, relaxed, pull-on styles often with drawstring waistbands that sit at your hip—earlier this season, you can bet that I was immediately sold.

Think of easy pants as PJS, but elevated and outside appropriate. While there are many forms to bask in this spring and summer, ranging from silk to taffeta to linen, the ones I have been most excited about are poplin pants. Specifically Leset’s Kyoto Pants.

This pair has garnered quite the cult-following over the last year, and now that I own a pair, I get the hype. The fabric, made of 100 percent cotton, is beautifully crisp and featherlight, making it ideal for balmy spring days, but especially those unbearably hot, humid, and sticky conditions that descend on the city between mid-June to September. Like your favorite cotton button down, it feels absolutely delicious against skin. The pants will develop some creasing with wear—that’s just the nature of the beast—but it doesn’t wrinkle as much as linen, which sometimes, can skew a little unkept.

The fit is also *chef’s kiss*. The pants have a relaxed leg silhouette with cargo-inspired panels at the front, an adjustable drawstring waistband, and patch pockets at the back. The brand describes them as baggy, but as someone who is anti-baggy-leg, I find the shape is oh-so flattering. It has the slightest barrel shape that adds a hint of curve at the legs, and a length that hits perfectly at the ankles for a fit that is counter-intuitively slimming.

And then there are the color options. You could keep things classic with white or black, but I highly recommend considering one of the beautiful hues Leset has to offer. That’s coming from someone who typically refuses to wear color beyond earth tones. Being that primary colors are in this season, I decided to step outside my comfort zone and go with the blue shade—and I’m so happy I did. I treat it as if I were wearing actual denim, which makes styling seamless. I love wearing them with a tee and flip flops, but also with cashmere polo or button down and ballet-sneakers. And yes, because I know you’re wondering, they’re even office appropriate.

With temps set to be only getting hotter out there, Leset’s poplin pants are definitely going to be a staple in my summer uniform—so, I might as well as double up. Now, which color should I get…
