It's no secret that Travis Kelce adores his older brother, Jason Kelce. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has often given the retired Philadelphia Eagles center his props, crediting him for being his sole inspiration for joining the NFL.

When Jason retired from the NFL in 2024, Travis gave his brother an emotional farewell on their New Heights podcast. "You've always been a step ahead of me and it's always been like I've had that flotation device right there," Travis Kelce said as he began choking up. "To have you out of it, man, it feels empty. And it definitely feels like it's complete, you know, it was a success."

"I just appreciate you showing me the way and bringing us all on the journey with you," he concluded.

Speaking about why he wears the number 87, Travis told Shannon Sharpe: "It all started back in 1987 in Cleveland when my brother was born. I had three or four numbers that the Chiefs told me I could grab and 87 was one of them."

"It was the only one that really made sense for me, to show some love to the guy," he added. "I don't think I would be here without him."
