The Bold and the Beautiful viewers got a look at Darcy Dylan, Dylan's mom, on Thursday's episode. Now, her portrayer, Kelly Sullivan, is opening up about just who Darcy is and how her return to daytime came about!

Sullivan is known to soap fans for her turns as Connie/Kate on General Hospital, and Sage (Christian's mom!) on The Young and the Restless.

"On the first page, I said, ‘Yeah, I definitely, definitely, want to audition for this,’” Sullivan shared with TV Insider, adding that she just loves Darcy, calling her a spitfire. The actress adds there's a freedom in playing a character like Darcy as she can live through them vicariously.

The actress adds that she and Sydney Bullock, who plays her TV daughter, Melissa (who goes by her surname, Dylan), clicked right off the bat. Sullivan calls Darcy "sweet and bubbly." The day after Sullivan met with producers, she was invited to start a month later.

Sullivan admitted to having concerns about returning to the genre that she'd been away from for about a decade. But she felt at home right away, working with Crew Morrow (Will), the son of her Y&R leading man, Joshua Morrow (Nick).

Sullivan says that hearing the younger Morrow's voice instantly reminded her of his father. She told the actor that he looked just like his father, calling the resemblance "uncanny."

Joining B&B reunites Sullivan with Sean Kanan (Deacon; ex-AJ, GH). She says working with Heather Tom (Katie) was a dream. "She's just so disarming...fun and funn and silly and was very kind to me," Sullivan says.

Sullivan reveals that Dylan's father left the family when she was a child, so Darcy raised her daughter as a single mom. As a result, Dylan grew up "independent" and "confident."

The mother and daughter haven't been as close as Darcy would have liked, but Sullivan shared that Darcy loves her daughter and would do anything for her.

Had Katie not pressured Dylan to bring her mother to town so she could meet her, Dylan might never have reached out to her mom. There's clearly a "have-not" element to the Darcy clan, which is a clear contrast to the wealthy Spencer clan.

The show began with two "have" families (the Forresters and the Spencers), and a "have-not" clan (the Logans), which is ironic as Katie didn't grow up with much money.

Dylan read Eye on Fashion while growing up, and now, she's working in the fashion industry at Forrester Creations and has taken her relationship with Will to another level. She hasn't won over Katie just yet. Katie hasn't made a secret of the fact that she prefers Electra (Laneya Grace) for her son.

Will Darcy's arrival reinforce that preference, or will getting to know Darcy prompt Katie to give Dylan a chance?
