Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 5. Last week, things got complicated between Jesse and West when Jesse wanted to make a move on Ciara. Lindsay finally made the trek up to the Hamptons and started to vibe with Ben. However, she couldn’t tell if Ben liked her back. And Amanda told Kyle she had enough of him blaming their troubles on her. But would Kyle actually listen? Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 5: “Summer Knights.”

Ciara learned about Jesse asking West for permission to make out with her, and she was not pleased. When Jesse finally talked to Ciara about it, he made it clear it wasn’t a joke but didn’t make it clear how he really felt about her. And a new love triangle was brewing between Dara, KJ, and Ben. However, KJ took the lead and went on several dates with Dara, much to Ben’s dismay.

Carl’s Renaissance fair party was set into motion after Carl individually greeted each cast member as they walked down the stairs in their costumes. Fittingly, Lindsay was dressed as a queen. And Ciara killed it as usual, coming dressed as a rat carrying the bubonic plague.

Newbie Dara arrived, and Ben let West know that he was interested. So, I guess we can clear up any mystery if Ben liked Lindsay or Bailey. And luckily for him, Dara was single.

Dara explained she had dated West for six months. She said, “West and I ended pretty much for the reason I think nothing has seemed to stick. He just couldn’t full send it … I’m not trying to enter it like telling a man how to be a man. West is the best guy on earth unless you’re falling in love with him. Very happily the flame has died.” Mic drop!

But it wasn’t Ben who got to Dara first. Dara had wandered up to KJ, who totally forgot he had already met her at the singles bash. Still, Dara didn’t seem to mind.

Meanwhile, Lindsay couldn’t stand sitting on a piece of juicy gossip any longer and got to work. She filled in Ciara that Jesse had asked for West’s permission to make out with her. Ciara’s jaw dropped.

Amanda asked if Jesse was serious about making out with Ciara, or if he was joking around asking if it was ok. Lindsay said, “He was serious about asking, but the make-out would be a ‘joking make-out.’”

Ciara was shook. She was mad at how unserious Jesse and West were about it all. In her confessional, she wondered, “What are you asking permission for? Like, the only person that can give you permission is me.”

Bailey tried and failed to get her flirt on with West

In keeping with the Renaissance theme, Bailey decided she needed a quest for the occasion. And that was to learn how to flirt. Amanda tasked her to try with West. Easy peasy, right?

Well, not so much. Bailey quickly went from, “The weather, amirite?” to “I think this is the hottest you’ve ever looked.” Amanda popped out from behind a bush and gave her two thumbs up, but West was confused.

Bailey asked, “Are you turned on? Because I’m turned on.” West stammered, “That’s lovely.” Bailey realized it was a bust and explained she was just trying to flirt. But someone who had no problem in that department was Dara.

Dara had KJ in the palm of her hands as he gave her a tour of the grounds. Then she ran into Ben and asked, “How’s the party been so far? Better now?”

Later on, Ben pulled Dara aside for a chat. While everyone watched on and joked it was The Bachelor all over again, KJ knew he had to up his game. Looks like a love triangle was in the works!

It was then time for a duel. Lindsay summoned knights Jesse and West to face off, but it was more like summoning the two court jesters.

As they “jousted,” Ciara got upset and ran to her room with Mia behind her. Ciara explained she just wanted to have a best friend and not someone who wanted “surface-level sh*t.” She was worried Jesse only saw her as a “good time girl.” And that was so not her vibe.

Mia received the honors of announcing it was time for the guests to go home. After everyone left, Bailey saw Dara and Ben together and felt her window of opportunity vanish.

As they picked up from the party, Ciara gave Jesse the cold shoulder. In his confessional, Jesse said, “Goddammit. I can tell Ciara is upset. I’m hoping it’s not at me, but I’m afraid it is. I just feel like no matter what happens, I always mess up.”

Back in the city, KJ met up with Dara for their date. It was a casual lunchtime drinks vibe, and their chemistry was palpable. Yet, KJ was surprised. He thought Dara was feeling Ben instead.

KJ said, “When I started feeling a type of way, like when you and Ben were talking, I was like, ‘Dang, like, I actually like her.’”

Dara explained that she felt Ben was nice, but that was it. She said, “I just want to clarify, cause I think I’m not trying to make you feel like it’s some kind of weird competition.” KJ asked, “So you don’t like Ben?” Dara smiled and said, “No.”

Meanwhile, Ben met up with Carl at Soft Bar. Construction was almost done for his first location. Carl had named off the people who had invested, and Ben noticed Kyle’s name didn’t come up. This was a sore spot for Carl.

In his confessional, Carl explained that he had invested in Loverboy when he didn’t have much money. But when it came time to invest in Soft Bar, Kyle “was not in a position to invest.” Carl added, “The message it sends is kind of confusing.”

Blurred lines

KJ dished about his dates with Dara to the guys on their way to the Hamptons. They were shocked when KJ said they went out for drinks and she came over the next night for dinner. Jesse asked, “And then what happened?” KJ said, “Hey, I left this morning.”

Ben’s eyes bugged out, but he gave his blessing. Jesse went, “Oooh!” But Jesse was not as thrilled when KJ told him Ciara was upset at him for asking West if he could make out with her.

At the house, Levi and Bailey pulled an epic prank dressed as potted plants. The two jumped out at everyone as they arrived. We need more energy like this!

Then Jesse pulled Ciara aside for a chat. He told her he felt bad that he made her feel a certain type of way. Jesse thought he was doing the right thing by asking West for permission. Ciara said he made her feel like a “sexual conquest.” And she didn’t appreciate him saying their makeout would be like a joke.

Jesse denied those were his intentions. Ciara noted the lines were blurred in their friendship. She stated, “If you were really interested in me, you would ask him for permission to take me out on a date …. Not to just make out with me.”

Ciara added, “I just want to be seen in this friendship. I think that’s the only thing, the main thing I’m fighting for, you know?”

Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
