Alex Drummond Scott announced she’s expecting her second child with husband Mauricio Scott in September
The couple shared the news with a photo shoot featuring their 1-year-old daughter Sofia and family dog George
Ree Drummond expressed her joy in the comments, celebrating the growing family
Ree Drummond is going to be a grandma again.
The Pioneer Woman star’s daughter Alex Drummond Scott, 28, announced she’s expecting her second child with husband Mauricio Scott in an Instagram post on Wednesday, March 4.
“Here we go again!! Another little blessing coming in September 👼🤍 Thank you Lord for our growing family!” the couple wrote in a joint post that featured a photo shoot with their 1-year-old daughter Sofia.
“(George is still processing the news 😂),” they concluded the caption, referring to the family’s golden retriever, who also appeared in the sweet shots.
The Food Network star was quick to share her excitement in the comments, writing, “Ree Ree is just so happy. 🥹 Love you guys!! Wheee!!!”
Ree’s younger daughter, Paige, 26, also commented on the happy news, writing, “YAYYYYY I’m so excited 🥰🥳”
In addition to Alex and Paige, Ree and husband Ladd Drummond share sons Bryce, 23, and Todd, 21, and foster son Jamar Goff, 23.
The Drummonds have frequently documented milestones and memorable family visits since baby Sofia was born in December 2024.

When Sofia celebrated her first birthday in late 2025, Alex shared a montage of her daughter’s moments over the last 12 months.

Clips included Alex crying after giving birth, the infant cuddling with George, and Sofia playing with Ree. The video ended with Sofia in a crib full of balloons wearing a party hat with the number one on it.
“The most magical year of our lives. 🩷 Happy first birthday to our sweet Sofia! Forever our baby girl,” Alex captioned the video.
Ree commented, “Sobbing!! Sofia, you have changed our lives for better and forever. Our little magnificent magical baby. ❤️🥹”
Last year, Ree admitted that she didn’t think she was ready to be a grandma, but revealed that she was “loving” it.
"When your firstborn has a baby that looks exactly like she looked, you get to relive all the delicious feelings of first-time motherhood, but without the sleep deprivation, hormones, and confusion," she captioned a video of Sofia in March 2025.
"I didn’t think I was ready yet to cross over to the granny side of the street, but Lord in Heaven… I am loving it and I’m so grateful for this gift," she added.
