Prince Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have officially moved back to the U.K., arriving on August 26.

One of Harry’s first engagements since his return to Britain involves a bit of danger—and fulfills a promise he made to a World War II veteran last year.

Sometime in September, Harry is expected to take part in a skydiving jump to benefit two Canadian military charities.

Along with his family, Prince Harry took a big leap this summer, moving back to the U.K. for the first time in over six years. Now, it turns out, the Duke of Sussex is prepared to make another jump—this one out of an airplane.

For one of his first appearances since he moved back to Britain with wife Meghan Markle and their children on August 26, Harry is set to participate in a skydiving fundraiser in September. The event will raise money for the Sunnybrook and True Patriot Love foundations, two Canadian military charities, Page Six reported.

Harry committed to take part in the skydive after meeting 102-year-old World War II veteran Ed Marshall at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center in Toronto in November 2025, according to the event’s announcement. Marshall detailed his own involvement in the skydiving event to celebrate his 100th birthday, and the duke was motivated to try it out himself.

Page Six reported that Marshall wouldn’t be present for the skydive, but that his grandson Bailey is expected to attend in his honor. According to Hello!, it’s not known exactly when or where the jump will take place. Harry, a 10-year veteran of the British Army, was previously called a “natural” at skydiving after jumping with the Army’s Red Devils display team, the outlet reported.

Harry is also expected to attend the annual WellChild Awards slated for September. Harry and Meghan, along with Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, moved back to the U.K. in time for the children to begin school in early September. Harry and Meghan are not expected to resume their working royal roles, and they are living in a private, non-royal residence outside of London.

As for Harry, his life will “be the same as what he’s been doing in California,” a source told Hello!. “When the kids are at school, he’ll be on calls and having meetings with his patronages and organizations, but some of those can now be face-to-face.”

“They’ve talked about returning for a long time, and there’s no one thing that’s drawn them back, but all the pieces of the puzzle have landed at the right time—school, education, career, family,” the friend added. “All of those things have to align.”

A source close to Harry told People that moving back to the U.K. is “something Harry has been thinking about for a while,” with a different insider adding, “Harry never really stopped missing home. He’s missed that sense of connection and belonging. Britain is still home in many ways.”

For her part, one of the U.K. patronages Meghan worked with before she and Harry stepped back from their working royal roles to move to the U.S. in 2020 has spoken out. Smart Works, a charity that helps unemployed women gain skills to secure a job, told Hello! that the organization is “very excited to welcome the duchess and her family back to the U.K.” Another patronage of Meghan’s, the animal welfare charity Mayhew, told the publication that it “hasn’t reconnected” with Meghan since she returned to the U.K. late last month.
