With the Penn State season just seven days away, this next week is sure to drag on forever. Nittany Lions fans are anxious to watch their team get on the field, so they can get their football fix with the team’s commits in the meantime.
The high school season kicked off this week, and several Penn State commits had big days. But four-star quarterback James Armstrong arguably had the best performance of the bunch, upsetting the reigning Pennsylvania state champions in his season opener.
The Class of 2028 prospect displayed a promising dual-threat skillset, completing over 70% of his passes for 189 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 96 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Armstrong’s spirited performance helped lift his team to a 35-14 victory and put the state of Pennsylvania on notice.

Armstrong will make some trips up to State College this season as his recruitment winds down and he gets ready to officially put pen to paper. It doesn’t seem like he has any wandering eyes, so hopefully he keeps crushing the competition and officially signs sooner rather than later.
