Nick Cannon has different dating rules for his eldest son and daughter Moroccan and Monroe.

The Masked Singer host explained that he's encouraged son Moroccan to date, but wants his twin sister Monroe to wait until college.

“I am more protective of my daughter because there’s things out there that I have to protect my daughter from," he said.

Nick Cannon is shedding light on why he has different dating rules for his eldest son and daughter.

The Masked Singer host, who is dad to 12 children, recently revealed why he allows his 15-year-old son Moroccan to date, but not his twin sister Monroe. Cannon shares the siblings with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey.

“My son's been dating and I’ve allowed it. I’ve encouraged it. But my daughter?” he said on a recent episode of The TMZ Podcast. “No, absolutely not.”

The Wild ’N Out star acknowledged that it’s “absolutely a double standard,” but that he’s inclined to be more protective of his daughter in the current dating climate.

“First of all, and I know I get in trouble when I say things with my chest, but there is a difference when parenting a son and then when parenting a daughter,” he said. “I am more protective of my daughter because there’s things out there that I have to protect my daughter from.”

Cannon explained that he’s wary about his daughter dating out of concern that she could potentially be abused by her partner. “As we know, there’s certain type of individuals that you want to keep your daughter away from,” he said. “My son… It’s a different conversation when he’s going out into the dating world.”

He continued, “My son is not calling me like, ‘Dad, she hit me!’ He’s not doing that. But if somebody puts the hands on my daughter, I’m going to jail, just like your daddy would.”

Cannon also shared why he's not worried about his son dating someone who only wants him for his money. “No! He got a whole lotta money, his momma’s Mariah Carey!” he exclaimed. “He’s good!”

But, he warned, “If some man puts his hands on my daughter, it’s my worst nightmare because I’m going to jail forever.”

When asked at what age Monroe could potentially start dating, Cannon said that he and his daughter struck up a deal where “if she can explain to me what’s gonna happen on these dates, then she can go.”

However, he later stated that it’s his hope that she won’t start seeing anyone until she goes off to school. “I’m preparing her for college. And I know it’s out of my control. I can’t do nothing about it,” Cannon admitted. “Hopefully we’re having all these open conversations, my daughter tells me any and everything.”

And, if someone does catch her eye before that, Cannon conceded that while he is “apprehensive” about the whole situation, he’d be open to having the dating discussion.

“If we can have a conversation about it, I’m for it because I know when you get to college, I want you to have all the questions answered and whatever and you make the best decisions possible,” he said. Still, he added, “So, I know that’s around the corner. I don’t need anything to happen before that. Like, that scares me.”

In addition to Moroccan and Monroe, Cannon is also dad to 10 other children, whom he shares with multiple partners.
