The NFL's first-ever game in France has left many fans with a sour taste in their mouths after the stadium ran out of food before half-time.

Fans were seen in huge queues at the concession stand before learning that all food items had sold out just one hour into the game. Only popcorn remained, which is believed to have also sold out at half-time.

80,000 fans are in Stade de France to see the Pittsburgh Steelers face the New Orleans Saints, with many will hope the game does not go to overtime - potentially not being able to eat for the next two hours. The game in Paris went ahead, despite Donald Trump telling the league to suspend it.

Speaking to fans in the stadium, Mirror U.S. Sports made him aware that all concessions had run out of food, "There's no food left?! It's half-time!!! I was excited about getting something. Are they still selling beer?!"

All concession stands still appear to be serving alcohol, and fans are still walking back to their seats with beer.

A Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Mark, said, "Yeah, they've got nothing! Not a crumb! Real well prepared here!"

A New Orleans Saints employee told us, "I have never heard of anything like that. We make a lot of money from selling food throughout the game!

NFL teams regularly make more than $1 million per game through concessions, with the Stade de France clearly missing out on significant revenue due to its unpreparedness.

There was also no food left in the press box, as many were confused by what was going on.

Employees in the stadium have confirmed they have no food available.

Outside the Stade de France, there are over a dozen large food trucks, though it's unclear whether they have also run out of food.

Into the third quarter, it appears unlikely they will be able to transport it all into the stadium, leaving fans hungry for the next 90 minutes as the game unfolds.

The game between the Steelers and Saints has around 80,000 fans in attendance, many of whom have made the trip across the Atlantic to see their teams play in the French capital.

This is the first time France has hosted an NFL game, in what will be seen as a huge blunder, with many fans unhappy.

The game between the Steelers and Saints was close in the first-half, with Pittsburgh taking a narrow lead into the third quarter.
