Netflix has ordered a Manifest spinoff.

Arrivals will follow the mystery of a plane’s crash landing.

The news was made official on 8/28, at 8:28 a.m.

Prepare for another bumpy arrival.

Netflix has announced plans for a spinoff to their hit series Manifest, titled Arrivals, hailing from original creator Jeff Rake. Fittingly, the news was made public on 8/28, at 8:28 a.m. PT, considering the fateful flight from Manifest was No. 828, with that number only becoming more important as the show went on.

Here’s the official logline for Arrivals: ā€œWhen a mysterious plane crash-lands in Denver, the passengers emerge with no memory of who they are, where they came from, or why they’re here. A young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent team up with the new arrivals in an attempt to stop a humanity-ending catastrophe, discovering along the way that they are all part of the very puzzle they’re trying to solve.ā€

Manifest premiered to a great deal of buzz on NBC in 2018, giving Lost and Fringe vibes. The plot centered around Montego Air Flight 828, which, after experiencing some turbulence, lands in New York City. But the passengers soon realize that they’ve been presumed dead since the plane was scheduled to arrive over five years ago. Reintegrating into their old lives isn’t so easy, especially as they begin to experience ā€œcallings.ā€

The series ran for three seasons on NBC, before being canceled ahead of an official planned ending. Netflix then swooped in to save the day, dropping a two-part fourth and final season, released to record ratings for the streamer.

ā€œWhen the idea for Manifest first crash-landed in my head, I never imagined where it would lead,ā€ Rake said in a statement. ā€œWhat started as a wild concept became something much bigger — a story that connected with millions of people around the globe. And thanks to Netflix, we were able to finish the journey and give those fans the ending they deserved.

ā€œBut the world of Manifest has more stories to tell,ā€ he continued. ā€œTo now bring fans a brand-new mystery from that world is quite simply beyond my wildest dreams. We’ve set out to create something bold, surprising, deeply human, and full of the kind of big ideas that spark conversations long after the credits roll. We can’t wait for a whole new audience — and longtime Manifest fans — to discover Arrivals.ā€
