The eviction case against Mickey Rourke is moving forward.
Two months after a GoFundMe raised more than $100,000 to help the 73-year-old Oscar nominee pay back rent he owed on his Los Angeles home, a ruling has been made.
On Monday, a judgment filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court revealed Rourke had defaulted in the case, indicating he either didn’t respond to the complaint or “appear to defend himself within the required time under California law,” as PEOPLE exclusively reports.
As a result, the court ordered that the actor’s rental agreement with landlord Eric T. Goldie be canceled and his lease forfeited, per the judgment.
Back in December, Rourke was served with a notice to pay $59,100 in back rent or vacate the three-bedroom home on Drexel Avenue within three days.
The following month, the actor’s manager Kimberly Hines launched a GoFundMe with a goal of $100,000 to raise the necessary funds — which Rourke denounced as “humiliating” in an Instagram video. The fundraising campaign, which surpassed its goal within 24 hours, was subsequently removed from the platform.

Hines, who has represented The Wrestler star for nearly a decade, told Entertainment Weekly at the time she launched the GFM “with Mickey's knowledge.” She added that Rourke was "set back somewhat” by the public reaction to his eviction case, but had “since recognized that I did it because I care for him as I have for many years.”
Beyond the “outpouring of love and support” from fans, other positive developments came from the media frenzy, Hines said.
“Mickey has received many offers in the last few days, is attached to a number of projects, and is even developing his own property in the form of a graphic novel deal with Jay Firestone and Prodigy Pictures,” she said.

She also said Rourke had vacated the Drexel Avenue home where he lived since March 2025 and moved into a West Hollywood hotel. Despite his housing issues, “2026 will be a banner year for Mickey,” she said.
Entertainment Weekly contacted Hines for a comment on this latest development in Rourke’s eviction case, but has not yet received a response.
