Macaulay Culkin Celebrates His Birthday with Fiancée Brenda Song, Despite Feeling Like 46 ‘Is Not a Cool Number’

Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song are celebrating the actor’s 46th birthday, and the Home Alone star is not quite sure what to make of it.

Culkin, who turned 46 on Wednesday, Aug. 26, shared a photo of himself and Song, 38, to Instagram, as well as a screenshot of the Wikipedia entry for the number 46.

“46 is tricky. It’s not a cool number. There are so many cooler numbers,” Culkin wrote in accompanying caption, noting NBA legend Michael Jordan’s No. 23, former NFL star Aaron Donald’s No. 99 and author Douglas Adams’ 42, a reference to his novel The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

He continued, writing, “46 is an awkward number. It’s so boring. There’s nothing to it. Check the wiki. But I ain’t bored. This is not nothing. I see the things in front of me,” Culkin added in his post.

“I know I got this. We’ve got this. Shoutout to all us 46 years olds out there. Here’s to the tweeters. The grout. The cracks. The neither here-nor-theres. The in-betweeners. We’re halfway there. Happy birthday, y’all,” he concluded.

Song, who has been engaged to Culkin since 2022, shared her own Instagram post with photos of him holding a French fry in his mouth, watching Project Hail Mary on a flight and grinning for the camera at what appeared to be a Los Angeles Rams game in her own birthday tribute.

“Happy birthday to my one and only @culkamania ❤️,” she wrote. “My best friend, the best papa, my favorite adventure partner, the only person who will play Yahtzee and rewatch physical 100 or squid games with me over and over, the love of my life- I don’t even want to think of what my life would look like without you. I’m so darn grateful you were born today. I love celebrating you.”

“Thank you for doing this life thing with me. I love you so SO much,” she added. “Ps. That’s a French fry.”

Song and Culkin are parents to two children: Dakota, 5, and Carson, whom they welcomed in 2022. PEOPLE confirmed the couple were engaged in January 2022, roughly nine months after their first son was born. The former child stars began dating in 2017 after they got to know each other on the set of the movie Changeland.

They celebrated nine years since they first began dating with dueling social media posts they shared in June. “It’s amazing to think that 1 in every 5 days I’ve been alive I have had the honor of waking up next to the love of my life. My only regret is that we haven’t had more time together,” Culkin wrote in a sweet message on June 17.

On the same day, Song wrote in her own Instagram post that her “life burst into color when [Culkin] walked into it.” “I will never know what I did to deserve you and this life that we lead, but I am forever grateful,” she wrote. “I truly can’t imagine doing this whole life thing without you. It’s not always easy but it’s always worth it.”

Culkin most recently appeared onscreen in the second season of Prime Video’s Fallout series, as well as in cameo roles as a fan in Song’s basketball-themed Netflix show Running Point.

In July, a source told PEOPLE that Culkin himself pitched a potential Home Alone sequel that would bring him back into the fold as Kevin McCalister. “Disney loved Macaulay’s idea and everyone wants to see this happen,” the source said at that time.
