*Love Is Blind* contestant Devonta Anderson dropped a bomb at the season 10 reunion: he's going to be a dad!

While viewers didn't get many details beyond the pregnancy news during Wednesday's reunion, the 32-year-old Netflix star is filling in some of the gaps to ** — beginning with the fact that he's only been dating his pregnant girlfriend for "a little over two months."

"I don't necessarily think we were planning on doing it as fast as we did," Devonta admits to EW. "But this is the biggest blessing ever. I'm ecstatic. It's literally all I think about. I'm always on Pinterest looking at baby clothes, ideas, figuring all that stuff out."

Acknowledging that his partner "wants to stay out of all of this" — meaning the aftermath of his *Love Is Blind* season streaming — he reveals she's from Ohio and that the pair met in college about a decade ago. (He also clarifies that he never actually lived in Arizona with Alex as was suggested in the reunion.)

"We have always known each other, [but] we've never dated or anything. ... She's always been a friend," he says. "We reconnected and it was like, 'Wow.' We look at the timeline and how fast things progressed, but I feel like I've known her my whole life. Whenever these big things that have happened in my life, she's been there as a supporting friend."

This is the first time the timing has aligned for both parties to be single.

"It was a timing thing where I was like, 'Man, this was exactly where I was supposed to end up.' And it's just felt electric ever since," he says. "I knew I wanted to be a father."

On season 10 of *Love Is Blind*, Devonta got engaged to Brittany sight unseen. When they opted not to get married during the finale, Brittany was under the impression that they were going to work on their relationship and eventually wed. Devonta has been under fire from fans for not being straightforward with Brittany about not feeling the same way.

"I wish I could go back and say things a little bit different or be a little bit more direct, but I think that was part of the growth that I needed, personally," Devonta tells EW.

One of Devonta's reasons for ending things with Brittany was the concern that she wanted to be married, but not necessarily married to him. He cited her buying a dress before going on the show as a sign of this — something she has taken issue with because she says he knew that fact from the beginning.

"The dress, at first, it didn't really bother me," he says, explaining that he worried about them losing their own senses of self to get to the goal of the altar. "But how I watched our relationship progress — I wanted to come into this where you live your life, I live my life, we live them together. I don't think one partner should have to sacrifice so much of what they believe in, what they stand for, for the other person because you start to lose yourself. ... and then you have resentment. As more people started talking about it, I was like, 'Yeah, that is kind of weird to buy a wedding dress before you even have a boyfriend,' whether it was on sale or not."

Another moment that has caused a stir with fans is Devonta telling Brittany "we'll be in touch" as they say goodbye on the show. He says the comment was a joke between the pair since they had to stage the conversation for Netflix.

"We actually had a conversation the day before, off camera, so we had to come and redo it," he explains. "Going into [that whole conversation], we were like, 'Okay, well, we don't really know how to end this because there's not really an ending scene.' We joked around a lot with each other, so the 'We'll be in touch,' that wasn't a real comment from me."

As for Brittany's feelings on Devonta becoming a dad, he acknowledges there is likely "some animosity" on her side because of how their relationship ended. "[Revealing the news at the reunion] I don't necessarily think I was coming out to get Brittany because I don't have any ill will towards her," he says.

Someone he does have a little beef with? Brittany's dad, who put him in the hot seat at the reunion for his treatment of his daughter.

"It definitely caught me off guard, for sure," Devonta says. "I was sitting on that stage confidently in myself being like, 'I can't run from any of these questions that are gonna be asked, so just answer them truthfully and honestly. Now's your time to be direct.' ... He has my phone number or he could have easily pulled me aside. It was almost a performative thing, where he was like, 'Oh, now is my moment.' He makes a TikTok about me almost daily now and I'm like, 'You're in your 60s.''"

He concludes, "But whatever you need to heal, do it."
