- Jamie-Lynn Sigler reveals how her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis impacted her late 2000s relationship with Jerry Ferrara.

- The couple met while starring as love interests on *Entourage*, and the relationship soon became serious.

- Sigler notes that the relationship unfortunately coincided with "the worst flare of MS symptoms yet."

Jamie-Lynn Sigler still thinks fondly of her short-lived relationship with Jerry Ferrara.

While delving into the details of her private life in her new book, *And So It Is….: A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope*, the *Sopranos* alum unpacks the highs and lows of her relationship with Ferrara, including the issues that ultimately led to their split.

After meeting on the set of *Entourage* — in which they played love interests across several episodes — the couple dated for just over a year, with Sigler writing that they "quickly fell into the rhythm of a serious relationship" after getting to know one another while working on the show.

By the time they were officially dating, Sigler decided it was time to broach a difficult subject. The actress had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2002 and needed Ferrara to know before their romance could go much further.

"At this point, if I was going to be in an intimate relationship with someone, they had to know," she wrote. "It also became a test: 'Do you really want to be with me?'"

Ferrara passed with flying colors. "He didn’t even flinch," Sigler recalled. "'Yes,' he told me, he wanted to be with me. My diagnosis didn’t scare him off."

The actress wrote that Ferrara became her "anchor" and her "teacher," helping her approach acting from a place of joy instead of pain.

"He tried to help me move away from that looped anxious thinking about what everyone thought about me," she wrote. "He taught me that acting could be joyful, he reminded me of my talent, and he lightened my darkness. He taught me that someone who loved you wouldn’t just leave you if you fell apart."

Referencing both her struggles with MS and turmoil from past relationships, she continued, "Even if I lost control of my bladder or worse— a person who truly loved you could see you at your absolute worst and still desire you."

Sigler was already divorced after marrying her former manager Abraxas "AJ" Discala at 22 (when he was 32), but wrote that dating Ferrara made her consider the possibility of marrying again.

"We looked into buying a house together," she wrote. "I started imagining a life where I would be open to marriage again and even to starting a family with him."

At this point, Sigler was still years away from revealing her MS battle to the public, not telling the world until 2016. But in private, her battle with the autoimmune disease put significant pressure on their relationship as she experienced "the worst flare of MS symptoms yet."

Sigler wrote that by the time she and Ferrara were back on the set of *Entourage*, "the symptoms were getting harder to hide."

This is where their relationship took a turn for the worst. "Bound by our roles— he as caretaker, me as patient. I knew he was overwhelmed," she wrote. "I was overwhelmed. I started to resent my situation."

Sigler noted that, crumbling under the pressure, the couple who didn't often fight "suddenly started to bicker."

"I found myself picking fights with Jerry just to push him away," she continued. "I think that I was trying to spare him from what I knew I was about to enter: a deep depression spiral, and I didn’t want to take him with me."

She added, "He was too good for that. He deserved more." The couple ultimately went their separate ways in 2009.

Over a decade later, Sigler married former baseball player Cutter Dykstra, son of Lenny Dykstra. The couple have two sons. Meanwhile, Ferrara wed Breanne Racano in 2017, and the couple welcomed their third child together earlier this year.

For his part, Ferrara spoke highly of Sigler during a June 2024 chat with* Us Weekly*, telling the outlet that it was "hard to not geek out" while acting alongside the *Sopranos* alum all those years ago.

Though he didn't speak to their personal relationship, he noted that they were very "comfortable" with one another on camera, adding, "She’s such a good actress and was so down to play this heightened version of herself."
