The NFL offseason is crawling along, and players and teams are being dissected by every outlet that covers the league.

In most articles, when it comes to the Tennessee Titans, second-year quarterback Cam Ward often comes up, and the comments and opinions are rather mixed after Ward’s uneven rookie campaign. While it’s widely reported that he flashed potential, analysts often question his consistency, especially facing pressure.

So where does he land in the CBS Sports report on the league's 32 quarterbacks? In a positive review, Bryan DeArdo lists Ward in Tier 3 as a Promising Prospect.

Ward's most impressive stat last year was playing -- and starting -- in each of the Titans' games despite getting sacked a league-high 55 times. Ward's toughness is without question, and any questions about his talent will ultimately be answered if the Titans provide him with enough support.

While the 55 sacks are something that must be corrected in 2026, it is worth noting that the number dropped dramatically after Brian Callahan was fired and was no longer calling plays. In fact, as the line improved its play down the stretch, Ward started to play better, and his consistency and command of the offense looked completely different from what they were under Callahan.

The Titans added some weapons for Ward, but did not do much to upgrade the offensive line, and this is something that must be worked out in camp. With offensive coordinator Brian Daboll taking over play-calling, he should have the experience needed to put Ward in a position to succeed.
