Days of our Lives is upping its hunk quotient with the addition of actor Brandon Butler. The actor, who previously appeared on the show briefly as Zack Brady, has been cast as the character Mason Whitfield, according to the show's official Instagram account.
The Butler Is In on DAYS
"Hey, everyone," Butler greeted DAYS fans from the show's studio. "My name is Brandon Butler, and I'll be Mason Whitfield on Days of Our Lives."
The actor went on to share five fun facts about himself so that audiences can get to know him a bit better.
"Fun fact No. 1," he began. "I was born and raised in Frankfurt, Illinois, about 30-40-ish minutes south of Chicago. Fun fact No. 2, I grew up loving baseball, basketball, you name it! So, I competitively played sports, baseball, and basketball for my school, for travel. Couldn't get enough!
"Fun fact No. 3," Butler continued, "I also loved acting. So at that time, locally in Chicago, there was some commercial work, print ad, and theater. Growing up, you would find me either auditioning in the theater or on the field.
"And fun fact No. 4, I was in a Happy Meal, McDonald's toy poster growing up for Duel Masters. All my Duel Masters fans out there. Let's go." Duel Masters, for those who may not know, is a manga adaptation of Magic: The Gathering.

Butler ended his short video with a very poignant reveal. "Fun fact No. 5, last but definitely not least for me, Days of Our Lives was my late mother's favorite show, so this one's for you, mom. Love you."
Familiar Face
Viewers will have to tune in to find out who Mason Whitfield is, but they're fairly familiar with the character Butler played on DAYS in 2025. That's when the actor played Zack Brady, the late son of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso).
Bo was hovering between life and death, and he encountered Zack in the afterlife before returning to the land of the living.
Butler's not the first actor to appear on DAYS in one role, only to return in another. Alison Sweeney played a Young Adrienne (Judi Evans) in 1987 before returning to the show several years later as teen hellion Sami Brady!
Butler's other credits include playing "Frat Guy" on General Hospital in 2016, SEAL Team, and Trinkets.
