Better Call Saul alum John Christian Love shared a career update on Reddit recently

Christian Love starred in the Breaking Bad prequel, which ran from 2015 to 2022

"It sucks," Love said in his social media post

An actor who fans can catch streaming on Netflix recently confessed that he’s had to find work away from Hollywood.

Last month, Better Call Saul alum John Christian Love shared a now-viral post to Reddit, detailing how his career now consists of “delivering smiles & autographs.”

“Hey it’s me John Christian Love,” he wrote in a forum for Amazon drivers. “Just want yall to know that as the actor who brought you the character “Ernesto/Ernie” in Better Call Saul, that I too am out here delivering with you!”

The 35-year-old actor, formerly known as Brandon K. Hampton, continued, “It sucks. But 1 delivery at a time. Be blessed out there!”

Better Call Saul is an Emmy-nominated American neo-noir legal crime drama series that served as the prequel to Breaking Bad, and follows a budding attorney named Jimmy McGill as he transforms into the morally challenged lawyer Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk.

Love appeared on the series, which ran from 2015 until 2022, as a former employee of fictional Albuquerque law firm Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill, and one of McGill’s friends and former co-workers.

In addition to the post, there was also a selfie of Love standing in front of packages inside a delivery truck, wearing glasses and a vest with an Amazon logo.

A second photo showed him holding a small box with an autographed promo image from the television show during a scene with him and Odenkirk.

After his confession, others within the forum weighed in.

One person asked if his role as Ernesto was “enough to continue acting as a career,” assuming that is the path Love wanted to take.

“I haven’t given up on it, just really slow right now. And BCS wasn’t the breakout I was hoping. Did a significant film working opposite Lily Gladstone / Bryan Cranston but film ran out of money and I was never paid,” he wrote.

Others offered him words of encouragement.

“Success isn't linear. I hope we all make it. I also hope I get a package from you,” another said.

Elsewhere in the comments, he said he does not charge anyone who asks for signed Better Call Saul merch as long as they cover the postage.

Outside of Better Call Saul, Love has also appeared on the TV series Friday Night Lights, as well as in the 2016 Tina Fey and Margot Robbie film Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and 2015’s Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.

Reps for Cranston and Love did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
