The San Francisco 49ers' offseason hasn't been quiet.
They've strived to address their needs at wide receiver, offensive line and defensive edge with draft selections and free agent signings. And did.
During the 2026 NFL Draft in April, the 49ers had eight draft picks and split them up evenly – half offensive selections, half defense. They selected offensive skill players such as receiver De'Zhaun Stribling and running back Kaelon Black. They also looked for projects to improve their protection with versatile tackles Enrique Cruz Jr. and Carver Willis.
Defensively, they added defensive back Ephesians Prysock, defensive lineman Gracen Halton, linebackers Jaden Dugger and Romello Height, who can also play edge.
But that was just the draft. The Niners have been making deals since the season ended in February.
In one, the Cowboys agreed to trade defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to the 49ers in exchange for a third-round draft pick on March 11, giving San Francisco needed presence at the line, on the inside. But the Niners didn't stop making calls in March. Next up came luring free agents and retaining some of their own.
One of the biggest signings was 12-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Williams, who re-signed with the 49ers after a long contract standoff. Williams, 37, agreed to return to San Francisco on a two-year, $50 million deal, which includes $37 million guaranteed and up to $22 million in contract bonuses. Williams turns 38 in July.

Mike Evans, wide receiver
The Niners signed six-time Pro Bowl receiver Mike Evans to a three-year, $60.4 million contract, which includes $16.3 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Evans expects to come back healthy in 2026, pairing Brock Purdy with a future Hall of Famer.
Dre Greenlaw, linebacker
He's back. Greenlaw was selected by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the No. 148 pick. He spent every season in the Bay until signing with the Denver Broncos ahead of the 2025 season. His injury luck didn't improve, and now he's back in familiar threads after signing a one-year, $7.5 million deal. The Niner Faithful are hopeful that Greenlaw is healthy.
Nate Hobbs, cornerback
Hobbs signed with San Francisco for up to $4.5 million. It's the 49ers' attempt to address their gaps at cornerback and nickelback. Hobbs spent the 2025 season with the Green Bay Packers after three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Christian Kirk, wide receiver
San Francisco looked to add more wideouts to its arsenal and went after Christian Kirk, signing him on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. When healthy, he can be a 1,000-yard type of receiver. His best year came with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022, where he started and played all 17 games, tallying 84 catches, 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns.
Brett Toth, offensive lineman
Toth is a bargain deal. He's signed for a year and can play both center and tackle. The Niners can always use more protection. Toth gives them more depth up front. But they didn't stop there.
Vederian Lowe, offensive lineman
Lowe was brought in to be a backup, in case of emergency. He signed a two-year, $12 million contract with $5.75 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. He continues to give San Francisco much-needed depth on the line, especially at left tackle behind Trent Williams.
Robert Jones, offensive lineman
San Francisco needed to beef up its line. So it did. Robert Jones signed a one-year deal with the 49ers. He's listed as starter at left guard. He was a starter in 2024 for the Miami Dolphins, albeit, he was one of the worst in both pass block and run block win rate among guards. Jones didn't play in 2025 due to a broken neck. He hopes to come back in 2026 better than before, and so does the Niner Faithful.
Corliss Waitman, punter
Waitman, 30, signed a one-year, $1.29 million contract with the 49ers for the 2026 season.
